A Local Area Network (LAN) is the internal computer network in your office that enables users to communicate to one another and with other office ‘peripherals’ like printers. It lets you share resources and generally access the internet through a Wide Area Network (WAN).
We will ensure that:
- You can access the internet.
- The firewall is protecting your Local Area Network.
- Any shared devices can be accessed by all users.
As well as installing the firewall, the engineer will configure it with the public IP addresses needed and Domain Name System (DNS) if required.
They will also ensure that firewall rules are set to ensure your applications can operate and that it is compatible with your Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN). In addition they can enable a Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) so that private IP addresses are distributed to all computers on your LAN. Finally the PCs will be tested to make sure they are properly protected.
